Thanks to everyone who dropped by and commented this past year from the SuperStuff blog team!
With a good following wind we should be able to close out the year with one more post, the final stage of reminisces of cycling around Portsmouth comic shops in the 1970s, so watch out for that one.
A single Christmas quiz re the image at the top of this blog post (drawn by Michael Cho)....what is incorrect about it? Answers in the comments section please.
And now.....off to start shoveling the snow....
And a great Christmas to you and your family and friends as well.
ReplyDeleteI can't see anything wrong with the illo other than the height of Darksied, isn't he supposed to be about 9 foot tall?
Thanks for the festive wishes McScotty! Hope you have a great Christmas. Thanks for all your comments this year - the support has been much appreciated.
DeleteI'll hold off on giving the answer re the illo until (if) a few more readers comment.
Darkseid shouldn't be in it as he's a DC Kirby Character, not a Marvel one like the others. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all your readers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kid! And a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! Hoping that you recover your energy levels in the New Year.
DeleteWell, it's true that Darkseid is a DC character, but I'm sure that at this time of brotherly love, he's been pulled into the Marvel fold. The answer I'm looking for is more related to what each of them is celebrating.
I've stared and stared at that illo. Is it that Black Panther shouldn't have a nose? G'wan! You can tell *me*!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, Nigel, you're in the right area in that you've narrowed it down to Black Panther. The answer I'm looking for is related to what he is celebrating.
DeleteIs it that Black Panther is an African Prince and thus would be unlikely to celebrate Kwanzaa an African-American tradition?
ReplyDeleteSpot on Gallantine! It would be more likely that Luke Cage or The Falcon would celebrate Kwanzaa (although to think about it, Luke Cage's favourite expression of "Sweet Christmas!" may put him out of the running.
DeleteI don't think I would ever have gotten that one Ian although I was thinking it had something to do with the Kwanzaa "food basket". Anyway I hope your all keeping warm and safe in US/Canada through that terrible winter freeze .
ReplyDeleteYes, the lack of connection between Kwanzaa and Black Panther was unlikely to have been identified by a UK-based reader. I must confess. Thanks to Gallantine for spotting the incongruity.
DeleteThanks for the good wishes about our severe weather, Paul. Yesterday it was -22c , with a wind-chill adjusted temperature of -32c. The only thing is to stay inside and keep all the taps open in hopes that pipes don’t freeze and burst (so far,so good, touch wood). All the best to you and yours for Christmas and the New Year.
